After a few years of waiting, I decided to start the Gateway Experience Program (the CD version).

At first, I was skeptical that this course would work. The problem was (at the time), that when I first tried to follow through the program, I jumped ahead...resulting in not having a lot of success with it.

For those that don't know about the Gateway Experience course, it was originally taught over at the Monroe Institute. The course includes training for astral projection, but it also has several "energy type" workings as well. The course also goes in segments called "Waves", with a total of 6 "waves" in the course. Each Wave is basically the training wheels for the next one. Finally, they are meant to be followed starting with the first, and ending with the last...and when a person feels comfortable with the current exercise in the wave, they are supposed to move on to the next one in the wave.

My Observations (so far):
Wave I:
-Easier for me to get into deeper meditation
-More "mind awake/body asleep" awareness (with and without the cds)
-Seem to have more energy during the day (despite lack of sleep on some)
-More vivid dreams (only during the day- might be a byproduct of doing the exercises at night).

Problems (so far):
-Falling asleep at some point in the exercise (possible fix: do them during the day, or sit up and do them)

I'm not trying to endorse the program, but I will be updating after I complete each wave of the program (6 Waves in all).

You're an inspiration to professional journalness. You're the very example of what the journals were originally intended for. I could go for some Monroe.

Alright, it took a while, but I managed to get through Wave II of the program. I think I am going to linger and spend some more time on this Wave, because my mind may have been telling me that I tried to move on; it was a lot harder to maintain total focus on what was being said, and I found that I often zoned out during the exercises. I may also spend a little time reviewing the previous exercises in Wave I, as I seemed to have more attachment .

In truth, I tried to start Wave III (which deals with various exit methods), and every time I did so, I fell asleep to it with no memory of what went on during the night.

Overall, here's what I've experience with Wave II:

-an increase in "mind awake, body asleep" state (possibly due to previous learning from Wave I)
-harder to stay focused in the later exercises (maybe too much for me to comprehend in one night?).
-a few auditory hallucinations before entering sleep state. (more than usual, otherwise it wouldn't be noted here)
-better, more controlled visualizations (Specifically from the "Energy Bar Tool" exercise).

Not too much is different from the experiences encountered in the Wave I report, but this shall be updated when I feel I have completed Wave II without rushing myself.
